Airbag Light has decided to stay on. Simple fix of disconnecting the battery has done nothing.

can anyone confirm this can be reset with VCDS? Will VCDS tell me which airbag is causing it?

VCDS will indeed tell you.
The commonest cause IIRC is the front section of the seat occupancy sensor in Recaro seats. This is not really important and can easily be physically bypassed.

I never got around to doing anything with this as it kindly fixed itself, however its now come back again.

Good news is I'm closer to knowing the cause. As it doesn't stay on if a passenger is in the seat but comes on again without one.

So to me that suggest its the airbag sensor in the passenger seat

So as per HPs post above assuming its the front section of the seat occupancy sensor

just to confirm, looping out the front sensor as per the thread I linked did indeed solve the issue

That's good to know as my airbag light has popped on now. D2's don't like staying fixed. :-(
