Are US rear indicator clusters more 'red'?
Hi,
Well, this is something that i've been wondering for a while... Are the rear indicator clusters different for US 8s vs EU 8s as they seem more 'red' I've always thought that in the EU, the rear indicator clusters have a slight 'pinkish' look to them. I.e. mine... http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1143/...5fe59525f9.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/192/5...d4a4b1820b.jpg Here some pictures of the US rear indicator clusters...they seem more 'red' than the EU versions to me...and i like them better to be honest...OCD i know! :p http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3014/...f0259927d8.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3385/...cc80450291.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3084/...e34206ae74.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3465/...f28eae6748.jpg Am i crazy or am i right?! -Oli |
I concur - I think they are more red. I guess as the US doesn't really have orange indicators (or turn signals in US speak), they can have 'redder' rear clusters. They do look smart dont they... !

Also don't they have side marker lights in them as per the front indicators; perhaps you can fit them here with some LED amber bulbs to make them flash amber?!? I quite like them as well & IIRC mkoneman was also looking into these.

With the red lens, you need a green light to make an amber light - Thats what our lights in the UK do, they are red to the outside, with a green tint over the bulb so you get orange.... Amazing what you discover when you have a broken one to pull apart +++

Mine bulbs don't have a green tint? where do you get those from? Thay still flash amber though?
