The future could well be long queues and scuffles at charging points if the infrstructure doesn’t improve pretty quickly.

Don't worry Jim, that won't happen: if an upstart Californian company with no cash can build a global infrastructure of > 10000 fast chargers that keeps ahead of demand, then existing car companies with billions to burn shouldn't find it that hard (especially as they can see their existing ICE business disappearing fast). And local and national governments support that happening too.

Scare stories about not being able to charge are just that.

A task that is made arguably much easier when one controls the demand +++

yeah because the national grid thats been neglected for the last 2 decades will magically cope with that scale

The future is electricity rationing, tariff-shaping, geofenced cars that refuse to unlock the door because you don't have a sufficient social score or a tweet you liked doesn't align with their corporate values. It's all in the UN white papers for 2030. :mad:
