For sale - RS4 front brake conversion for D2 S8

Hi all,

I am able to offer a rare opportunity to acquire a set of B7 RS4 front brakes complete with brackets to make a bolt-on conversion for the facelift D2 S8. These are 8-pot calipers with 365mm semi-floating discs and despite being 20mm larger and considerably thicker, they're actually lighter than the original D2 345mm discs. They are also much more effective than the original D2 Brembos. Oh, sooo much more effective!

These are some pics of the conversion I just did on the manual swap:

Bear in mind these are factory drilled discs and so a bit noisier than solid discs. They're worth it though!

Price including brackets and hard-lines to suit the D2 is £1000. I can also supply braided hoses if needed, and obviously fit them if you fancy a trip to Devon.

The brakes are still on the donor car (which only has 53K miles on it) so I don't know about the state of the pads yet. They may well require replacing (£100-200) so please bear that in mind.

I have a set of these..... on my B7 RS4

No doubt they are good stoppers, and given the price of the discs alone this is a well priced upgrade +++

(Is the donor a B7 RS4!? If so are you planning an FSI S8 also!?)

The donor is indeed an RS4, but not mine. The engine is actually going in the Fastest Shed

Those of us at Castle Combe last year saw that shed; IIRC it had a V6 S4 engine in it then.

That's awesome, I'm guessing that big brakes are less of an issue due to drag!

It blew up again after that and Kevin got bored of pulling the engine out so decided to put a V8 in instead. The RS4 V8 makes a similar output to the S4 engine but with less exploding :D I've been helping with drivetrain suggestions and parts compatibility and so have first dibs on any of the unused mechanical bits. Engine, box and rear diff are going in the Shed but everything else needs to go.

The Shed runs on Passat steel wheels with van tyres to take the weight so it doesn't have room for brakes this big!

I wondered if he just opens a couple of side shed doors as air brakes??

That thing has so much drag all he needs to do is let off full throttle and it will stop itself like a Tesla :D

Last call on these before they go on ebay :)
