just how good a D2 is when working properly. +++

Haven't used mine much recently, but today I did a return trip of just a few miles that I do regularly in my little Volvo. Local roads, some quite narrow and broken, nothing fast. And the Volvo is a good little car, 250+bhp, AWD, 8-speed auto, lots of good modern tech and just as quick as the S8 up to the legal limit.

Except......
Comfort, wonderful seats, quiet, grip, handling, insulation from the rubbish road surface and just plain spiritedness.
I think it took me about 2/3rds the usual time each way and nowhere did I feel I was pushing any limits whatsoever.
The big barge handles beautifully.
And incredibly, apart from not having real-time traffic data, the SatNav is more accurate and more responsive in the Audi.
(software expands to gobble up the processor, memory and bandwidth available)

It's over 20 years since I got my first S8 and I've never regretted having one. :D

I agree Andrew. Every time i get in it I realise how good a car it is and what a delight it is to drive. +++

And the D4 is a delighfully similar experience to the D2
