Wanted - Slim battery/handset Nokia 3110
I recently bought my D2 S8 but it didn't have a handset in it. I've got a nokia 3110 which would fit but needs the slim battery. Does anyone have a spare lying around, or a complete phone and if so how much?

You want one of these:
http://192.168.3.8/3339.jpg This is the 'Audi' Nokia 3110.... Its slightly special, as it has a red back lit display to match the interior, not green like the other 10 million handsets ever produced... :D Sad to say a8parts are currently out of stock, but they would typically go for around £90.... +++ |

Thanks for looking. You have quite a collection there! It looks like the connections on the 3310 are different.
I'll probably leave it for now, need to do a couple of other jobs. |

I also have several 6310s (or rather 6310i, the later model with tri-band reception). I still use a 6310i as my daily business mobile in fact. Partly because it works in my S8's OEM phone cradle but also because it's still the best mobile phone ever made, in my opinion. Ok, it has no camera, colour screen or 'apps', but it makes and receives calls perfectly and lasts a week on a charge :) I do have a Samsung smartphone too, but I don't use it as a phone. Another Nokia model I used to like using (that I still have a couple of) is the 7110. How cool were they, with their scroll wheel and ejecting keypad cover!? :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_7110 I think the oldest phone I have is a NHE-5SX, which was from the 'compact brick' era. Not quite as big and heavy as the old Motorola bricks but still quite a handful. I seem to recall it was notable for being one of the first phones (or maybe even the first phone) to have SMS text messaging capabilities. |
I think I've still got a Motorola brick the old builder one with show box sized battery under it lol

What, this one? Or this one? I used the former myself in the late 80s. The company I worked for at the time bought one for the engineers to share so that when we thought we'd finished for the day and we were on our way home, they could call us and ask us to go to another job. Thankfully however, reception was never great on those phones, especially when you unscrewed the aerial mid-call ;) Funny to think, back then, this just seemed impossibly futuristic: http://i.imgur.com/qRkaP4Y.jpg |
