Wanted: Both frontdoor's windowglas S8 D2 FL FAILED MOT!

Evening.

If anyone would have driver and passenger side windows lying around collecting dust i'm more than interested;

i guess they need to be double as mine are.

In need for MOT since mine is profesional tinted and i really do not want to remove the tint😃

For the price of two twin pane windows surely you could get a legal tint on the fronts??

Since the MOT people clearly did no see that my windows were tinted last time, i'm sure they will spot it this time :p

Anyone having a set of front side windows lying around that they would part with for a reasonable price?

I can arrange pickup with DHL/TNT from any location if the windows are securely packed:)

Appreciated :)

Failed MOT

MOT today and even if the car has had its tinted windows for 10 years now, they had close look at this now.. so it failed MOT

I'm really in need of a set of windows. If anyone have some lying around, i will have TNT/DHL pickup at any location in the UK.

Really hoping someone has a set as i'm not much up for the only tinted rear windows look..:p

Hi Silver S8.

Try this guy. His name is Julian and he is breaking a S8.
He may still have the two front windows.

Hope the link works

Take it for MOT with the windows down and it won't fail.....

But I'd suggest removing the film and leaving it off as a better solution - pimp tints on the front windows just asks for a tug by plod

Not least because they are illegal, probably for good reason.

Loads of windows in stock so ring up for 2 and im sure a decent discount will be available:

they'll also be able to supply the fresh door card clips that are required when a D2 door card has been removed to stop it flapping and squeaking..... unless you enjoy the sensation of driving something French... +++

Appreciated IT:)

In reagrds to tinted windows, mine are only apx 15% darker than stock. And since all 5 windows is the same it would look kinda strange removing the tint on the front :(

MOT requiere the windows to function, so no go on having them all the way down. I Even asked if i could remove the glass.. They actually had no regulation stating that a door requires a glass window, but they would not let it pass if i did +++

I'm well aware of why it is illegal, and I might have to bite the apple and remove the tint sooner or later, but right now i prefer later... :)

On pickup this afternoon they also informed that the headlights did not pass, as the dreaded plastic "cover" inside the BI-Xenons was to miscoloured... Anyone ever managed to get theirs clear again?

I now have 7 days until my car will loose the plates if stopped by the police and other enjoyable organizations checking cars along the roads :o

Though in reality, most cars on the road with tints have just tinted rears.
Our newer car came with tinted rears, and I don't like the look either but that's the way it is. :(

What specifically was the point of failure on that? They can object to the lights being different colours but I can't see how Xenons (unless really different) could be like that, or was it some other standard reason?
This is a few years old now but may help (look at Reasons for Rejection): http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_170.htm
