Card reader

Anyone seen, used or got the card reader that plugs into the TV tuner?

I'm curious to how it works.

is it this? Maybe it is to decode encryted DVB used in other countries, but I don't think it exists in the UK after ONdigital closed which was a year before the D3 was sold.

Unlikely on this forum :)

I believe it's for the 'Japan only' TV unit. The Japanese TV has an extra socket for the card reader which is screwed to the backplate. See pics ...

Yup. That's it.

Done a bit more digging and they have some sort of decoding card, bit like Sky boxes.
So its useless for us really.
