Goodbye Faithful 8
The 8 formally known as Dezzy's Bus and latterly as the T8 has made its final journey! :(
With it's MOT imminent and a lot of work required to get it through I made the sad decision that after 253303 miles it was time for retirement. On its last journey of 356 miles it did 29.4 mpg and an average speed of 61 mph and the ride was as smooth as ever. Unfortunately the ABS and start inhibitor continued to play up but the welding of the rear subframe held it together. As I had removed the tow bar before I left I did an old school connection for the back box and am pleased to announce that the baked bean tins held the exhaust together nicely! Parking up outside Prestige Motor Services I handed over the keys and went shopping! |
You sent it out in style, and to the best place, where those committed undertakers of fine automobiles will recycle its parts to ensure other 8's can continue on into the future.
Still, it's a little sad :-( |
Very sad :(

I feel for you.

This isn't the freshly detailed "Murple" one is it?
I did read some stuff on 'Traders 8' a while back, but don't recall its details... |
This was Trader's 8 - the ming blue one we rescued from a field.

Indeed it is. Engine and box still good and many other new parts as well. New cambelt and accessories belt and assosiated parts 2 years ago. Properly serviced by MJ and me last year. Bargain if your after an ABZ.
