Cleaning the Alcantara roof lining
I have just spent 1.5 hours as a passenger in my own car. A highly pleasurable journey.
Anyway it gave me the opportunity to truly enjoy the cabin which included 10 secs stroking the roof lining! Anyway the point of this post is a cleaning question. Having worried my roof I noticed the palm of my hand was filthy! So is there an 'approved' method/products for cleaning the lining or should I just buy a pack of wet wipes? |
raceglaze alacantra is tops. Spray on microfibre and scrub or light mist on the roof lining and gentle rub. Do not saturate as it might sagg+++

Yeah, I used Raceglaze on my D2's Alcantara seats (grey) and it certainly freshened them up and made them less grubby.
Maybe it's just me but I would be too scared to apply any wet products to my Alcantara headlining as its beige and perfectly unmarked :o Perhaps a soft brush for a start? |
I've seen some videos of guys using a wet vac afterwards to lift the fibres and extract the moisture, is that something you would guys do??
I've sourced a set of Sport Alcantara seats for my S8 which I'm planning to fit very soon, but I want them nice and clean before I do that. I would love to also restore/dye black leather as well so it looks absolutely mint. I can't believe how much grip Alcantara seats offer, it's ridiculous, you stick to them like velcro strip and they look amazing along Alcantara head lining and carbon trim. Thanks |
