James Bond Could Soon Be Driving An Electric Aston Martin

Sounds like the EV sector is about to get interesting over the next few years, as manufacturers scramble to compete with Tesla.

Quote:

In response to Tesla's new 'Ludicrous Mode' which gives the Model S P85D a 0-60 of 2.8 seconds Palmer did not mince his words.

“We don’t do Ludicrous because Ludicrous speed is stupid,”

Ouch.

He goes on to say, “I think that the fact that you could drive a few laps of a decent race course or race it around the Nordschleife [famed track in Germany] is much more interesting than doing 500 meters in Ludicrous mode.”
Read as: "Sh1t, that Tesla's good! ... What can we do to better it!?"

I drove a Tesla recently and it's a lot of fun to drive, the acceleration is just amazing.
The problem(IMO) is that they only think on how to make them faster which can be considered a positive thing but driving it in the city, especially when there's a lot of traffic can be a bit tricky. I drove the 430hp version and every time you step on the acceleration the car just pushes you into the seat. I think they should also include a "city" mode where the acceleration is not so brutal. Again, this one was not even the P85D(which develops almost 700hp) and you still need to be careful all the time with the acceleration because it's very easy to bump into the car in front of you.

Looking forward though to other manufacturers starting to produce electric cars, right now there aren't that many options.
