RNS-D doesn't know where I am

The nav has been having a wobble. It can't find its own location....can't find any satellites. Is it the aerial? Worked for about 150miles on Saturday, then got confused coming up the A3.

Thanks,
Zip

Almost certainly a failed aerial.
Fairly easy to buy a cheap "puck" aerial (the powered-up-the-cable type) and connect to the RNS to test.

Deciding where to site it, on a double-glazed S8, isn't necessarily that easy though.
I found a solution a few years ago, but it involved soldering connectors in/around the boot (reference here: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showpost....91&postcount=8 )
Here's a close-up of it installed (on my previous S8). This location works fine and is effectively almost invisible.

I elected (at that time) to tap into the existing aerial wiring in the boot lid, but now I know more about the internals of an A8 and where to run cables, I would probably try to run the cable (with extensions if required) directly back to the RNS.

Almost definitely the aerial, but fitting a replacement oem one would be my first choice.

If you have a common colour, a8parts may well have it on the shelf, otherwise they're not too difficulty to swap the internals of a new one over into your bodycoloured case, which I've done before..... +++

I agree. +++
But I was really just talking about testing, to confirm the problem. ;)
And as for my solution, that was well before I was aware of A8parts, and may even have been before they started...... :D (When was that Ian?)
