How to change headlight angle for mainland Europe?

Hi guys,

As the title says, how can I change the bi-xenons on my D3 to point them in the right direction for driving in mainland Europe?

Is there a VCDS setting to do that?

Channel 010: Tourist Solution
When driving in countries where driving is performed on the opposite side as in the native country the headlights must be changed over to avoid blinding the oncoming traffic. When active/enabled the Fault Code 02988 will be stored.
0 = Disabled
1 = Enabled
Note: Only supported for 8P0-907-357-C @ 0020 or newer! Earlier versions require a mechanical Adjustment as described in the Factory Repair Manual.

Going to Belgium in November, so was checking this out in good time and

Hmm....Just had a look in VCDS and chanel 010 is not available.

I've 4E0-907-357-C in a 2005 D3 A8

Any ideas on Mechanical Adjustment in the Factory Repair Manual ???

Here is the page from the manual - never managed it myself, I usually just stick a piece of gaffer tape on the light as its quicker and easier

My old A6 (late 1990s vintage) had a simple flip lever that took seconds to do, so you could do it on the ferry/train. Seems like a good idea that got lost somewhere.

My PF S8 was similar, the only confusion I found (and I no longer remember the answer) was that I think the levers were opposite directions left and right, so one was up while the other was down and vice-versa. :Confused:

I do remember that I had to test it at home and write it down before driving to Le Mans with a carful of people, luggage and camping gear back in 2009! :D

Wheel liner....Eeep. Nice quick and easy, then - I can see buying the plastic light things as whilst gaffer tape may work, i can't see police etc being happy if they pull you!

Having a quick look and i wasn't sure it looked that similar - Is that the Xenon Plus ???

Most gas discharge headlights have a lower cutoff than traditional filament bulbs anyway, so you don’t dazzle oncoming traffic as much when driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road

Is there nothing on d3s to put a flap down on the cutoff from the MMI? My S5 does, but only shows up when stationary
