A8 d2 1.9tdi

Engine downgrade aside, the D3 sports seats it is wearing front and rear, are quite interesting........
|
I thought the D3 seats were wider than the D2 seats.
That PD lump is orders of magnitude more reliable than the 2.5 it replaced, makes more power / torque and is 100Kg lighter. It might be a downgrade from a petrol V8, but its a massive upgrade from the V6 TDI ;) My conversion will be a lot neater than that one :p |

I love it :D
I’m a huge fan of the VAG PD 1.9 unit just because they’re so bloody robust. |
This seems to agree "VW Audi 1.9 TDI PD - Best Engine Ever ? ": https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/p...x.htm?t=110492

What about the 2.0 PD TDI, what's the difference? I never looked at them and thought all 2.0 are Common Rail but I recently found out there are 2.0 PD as well

What in all manner of non-originality is that??????????
Remarkably non-local accent too.... It's the sort of bodge I would expect to see tearing up and down the streets of rural Northern Ireland, not snow covered Latvia? |
1.9tdi i have had many cars with that in
the best one to fit i think would be a passat 130 bhp then map it to around 180 bhp and that would be awesome im a big fan....mmmm RS6 1.9tdi many years ago we fitted a 2.0tdi 5cyl into a 5 pot petrol auto Audi 100 avant and did a manual conversion it was brilliant MJ are you doing one? what about fitting a 3.0tdi engine and box? (ps i have one) |

Given that my A6 can get 700 miles from its 65 litre tank, a D2 with the same engine and less weight with a 95 litre tank should be knocking on the door of 1000 miles per tank +++ Oh, and a BV43 turbo for 200hp and many torques. Its a technical exercise, because I can, and I'm curious. It may be an abomination, it may be a fun and frugal daily, it may get to the German A8 Treffen and home again on £50 of cooking oil  The project kicks off after Andrew's S8 has been in for the treatment. If I get bored of the 1.9, I have a 3.0 with 6hp to put in it which would then make an interesting tow vehicle, but I want to try the 1.9 first :) |
