Still not had a chance to try mine properly. SORN'ed during lockdown :-( |
MJ fitted one of her blocks to my Murple yesterday as it comes out of 18 months of hibernation. It was a vexing day with the bonnet release cable snapping and a mouse having eaten the electric insulation above the washer pump causing water ingress and failure!
Replacement cable, new pump and block fitted it's time for a short test drive. Some of you will know I run a custom AP racing brake set,. Six pot calipers and 385mm fully floating disks with EBC yeallow stuff pads. The brakes are good, but the feel and pedal travel has always been lacking. Well, MJ's block cured that! And some....... Made the tyres squeal and the ABS earn it's living. Very pleased with the result. +++ |
yes the brake block really does make a difference

Finally fitted mine a couple of weeks ago prior to the MOT. It was MJs video more than anything else that sold me on the idea, but since I haven't had the car above 50mph in over a year and most of my journeys are single digits long including 30mph zones, I can't comment on their effectiveness yet.

Just got my S8 MOT'd and back on the road after Lockdown. Fitted the break block and as far as I am concerned it's like chalk and cheese. Feels much more positive. As far as bang for your buck goes, this is a great improvement.

Daily drive...Skoda Superb...has spent a bit of time at the dealer recently, so the S8 has become a work car for a few days. This has included a very sharp stop on the way back from Scarborough when something 4 legged ran out in front of the A5 I was behind. MJs brake block might well have saved her from being a parts car already!

Any left?

Not at the moment sorry. If I make another batch I'll let everyone know.

Many thanks.
