A message from The Laird

In response to some doubt :tuttut: over the continuing validity of my forum name (I won't mention any names :)), I have attached a copy of my certificate to show that I am, indeed, a Laird, despite my recently acquired more humble dwellings!
I hope this will clear up the matter. |

So what doth thou call ones kingdom (aka plot number A93476), your Lairdship? And have you visited it and your people? |
I bet it doesn't take you that long to mow the grass...

As a Christmas present one year, the Laird gave his gamekeeper, MacPhail, a deerstalker hat with ear-flaps.
MacPhail was most appreciative and always wore it with the flaps tied under his chin to keep his ears warm in the winter winds. One cold, windy day the Laird noticed he was not wearing the hat. "Where's the hat?" asked the Laird. "I've given up wearing it since the accident," replied MacPhail. "Accident? I didn't know you'd had an accident." "Yes. A man offered me a nip of whisky and I had the earflaps down and never heard him.":cheers: |
Souvenir plots...
Are the purpose of these to retain a title? Or to gain a title? Or for some other purpose? Excuse me for my ignorance of ancient Scottish titles. I am from English stock, but have not been taught much about ancient Scottish rights of inheritance... |

On the note of titles... My wife's cousin decided to dig into the black art of genealogy and claimed he was from aristocracy and his great great grandfather was a laird, so he bestowed the said title upon himself. He told the family with great glee the story of when his wife 'Lady XYZ' was stopped by the police and asked to produce her driving license and on the said license was Lady XYZ... Sad world Wonder what's on Laird Jim's license?:ROFL: |
As Jim's an Englishman who's now returned to his home country, I'm sure he'll have taken note of this ;) : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017...p-acreage-cap/
