Front top suspension arms

I need to replace all 4 arms and have been quoted £148 inc VAT for each arm. See attached for part numbers and quoted prices, top line includes labour.
I think that is an ok price for OEM but are they available any cheaper? Any recommendations for parts and also a garage for fitting, I won’t be taking her to my usual place after a disappointing last visit. MJ......!? |
You'll be able to get Lemforder or TRW ones (both OEM) cheaper than that - Lemforder from mister-auto or TRW ones from ECP. Lemforder are slightly more than TRW but I've had no issues with my TRW top or bottom arms.
Not sure where you're based but a few on here have had theirs done, including me - my VAG specialist in Birmingham did a great job both sourcing and fitting all arms, ends and anti roll bar for the two fronts on my D3. |
Lemforder and TRW are the same companay (ZF) do you think they are made on the same line? I bought TRW from mister-auto for about £47 each. They had VW/AUDI logos cast into the aluminium but lasered off.

VAG CAR in Cannock did all mine. Apart from myself, they are the only people I trust to work on my cars...
They fitted Lemforder on mine. |

I have bought my complete brakes from them. Spot on delivery and price is very good. They do most brands and if you sign up they have discounts most times.+++ |

This is the next ‘to do’ on my list. Mine are past their best. How difficult is it to DIY? If it’s a bugger I’ll let my mechanic friend do the honours. I’ve watched 3dogs1monkey replace his on youTube. Does the alignment get thrown out by replacing the arms? Sure I read that it does.
These are mine from today: |

Changing the arms can throw out the alignment if your bushes have failed for some time - when I did mine I also changed the track rod ends, so the steering geometry was wildly out after, and needed a full wheel alignment job. |
Cheers mate. Will search

Just a quick question before I buy TRW arms from Mister-Auto.
The part numbers are referenced to manufacturers part numbers, which is great but they are different. Audi own parts quote ends in a F but TRW are saying Audi are B to E. Are they the same? Please see images. |

Change the URL where it says 2006 to your model year. Then look at items 13 and 14 and match the PR code in the right column with two of those on your wheel-well sticker. There is probably a difference for sports/not sports, but most aftermarket ones seem to be universal/interchangeable anyway. |
