Finally finished my wheel refurbishment
1 Attachment(s)
Finally got my summer tires back on! And I don't want to do that again in a hurry! After removing all 4 wheels of the 8, mask up, glass blast, break the beads, mask up, etch prime, flat , prime flat and fill several times, base coat, and clear coat, wax and refit. Even with professional help (thanks Nige!) it's a very time consuming tedious process, that I don't want repeat! So respect to anybody who does that for a living, they earn there money!
So after seeing my friends RS4 wheels that had been done by AWR in Bury for £240 I'll be going that route next time. Dave |
looking very nice for all the effort Dave +++

Just spotted something different about your fog light grilles........

Cheers Neil
Fog grills! Yes mine where missing when I bought the car, so I knocked up a tempory pair (3 years ago) I've got used to them now, so haven't even chased up originals |
Looking very good! Hat off to you for doing the refurb yourself, sounds like too much hard work.

I'm a fan of those Avus 18" wheels. I know, I know, everyone is after the 20" FE's. Nevertheless that car, in that colour, on those wheels looks perfect IMO. Nice job, beautiful motor

The subtlety you may have missed is that they are facelift 18" Avus wheels with pre-facelift centre caps. ;)
If anyone wants a set of the original PF design I have them for sale here: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthrea...3467#post93467 |
