Ulez
which A8 will be compatible with the new “son of a bus driver” mayor khans ULEZ? I will soon need to sell my baby as it will not be compatible

Is it EU6 you need? In which case a 3.0 tdi D4 or a facelift 4.2 tdi d4. Check if they have an ad-blue tank.

I've just used the online checkers for the T-charge and ULEZ and my FL D2 S8 passes both, yet I thought that "officially" it didn't actually get certified as Euro 4 compliant.

Mine is not subject to the ULEZ charge either. Yes, my big dirty 5.2-litre V10 petrol car is exempt from the new emissions charges.
It must be big, dirty and polluting because I pay top whack for road tax which is based on the co2 it pumps out (319), which is well into the top 'M' band of 255. |

Maybe they've made an exception for D2 S8s, just because they're ultra cool cars  |
Strangely my D3 which is LPG converted and puts out about 10% of normal emissions and flies through the MOT emissions test every year seems to be exempt from the ULEZ which requires Euro 4 engine, but not from the T-Charge - which also requires Euro 4 engine
I've written to TFL asking them to explain this anomoly and referred them to this question/answer asked to the London Mayor . . . http://questions.london.gov.uk/Quest...uestion_294058 which seems to confirm the same engine standard applies to both. |

Glad to hear we're doing our bit towards saving planet earth. I note that in the guidance it states: "Convert to gas You can choose to convert your vehicle to run on pure gas with a spark ignition, using an approved conversion. If your vehicle is registered in Great Britain, you'll need to register the conversion with the DVLA and obtain a certificate from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), formerly VOSA. ....s" Now, does "pure gas" mean that it wont allow mixed/hybrid systems? |
Polar opposites
Looks like Johnny_quattro won't be making the trip to London when this ULEZ comes into play...
------------------------------------------------- A8 LFO Silver AUDI A8 QUATTRO AUTO You are subject to the ULEZ. From 8 April 2019 if you travel in the ULEZ you will need to pay the daily ULEZ charge. This is because your vehicle does not meet the ULEZ standards* ------------------------------------------------- I'm not quite sure how an S8 FL with 50 extra luggers under the bonnet is not liable for the charge and yet mine is. I suspect someone has got it wrong somewhere. Oh well. |

"LPG reaches the engine in a pure gas form, resulting in improved combustion and eliminating the problem of engine oil dilution by unburned petrol. The oil stays cleaner for longer. This increases engine life and can extend service intervals. Engines also run more smoothly and quietly than on petrol." So I'm guessing it means not diluted or mixed with anything else prior to getting to the engine +++ |
