2001 Audi S8 - £3500 ono

Good Evening...

First of all, this is my post on the forum, I signed up in Jan 16 as I was big part of bimmerforums and bmwforums.info when I owned my old car. Unfortunately due to working 7 days a week and bringing up a small family, forum life had to take a step back.

Please don't think Im a trader or somebody who isn't a motoring enthusiasts. Because I totally am, just from past experience, people with zero posts and a for sale advert are sometimes looked at a bit
:tuttut:

So if you don't mind here she is...

Audi S8 4.2 Quattro 4dr FSH

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...terior%203.jpg

This is my baby, she is a Audi S8 with the 4.2 V8 & a private plate of “S800W” that stays with the car. It has been in my possession since April 2015 and has been enjoyed and not abused, its been looked after, washed weekly and used only on weekends.

The Car benefits from having a full Audi Main Dealer & Specialist service history, 11 stamps in the service book @17,38,50,59,64,85,98,117,135, 153k & 163k with current MOT & full previous MOT history, HPi report - all clear. The Car currently sits at just shy of 170k but may go up slightly. I purchased the car at 163k and in my possession I have spent over £3000.00 yes 3K! on making sure she received the VIP treatment. A FULL service including all filters, plugs and brake fluid, new front brakes, new rear tyres, new cam belt, water pump & thermostat, new radiator, coolant, and temp sensor. A FULL gearbox service replacing all oil and filters at the well known and highly regarded Penn Autos (Andy Frost). The car has has had so much love and attention in the past 14 months it unreal, the above work just covers the basics. Lots of odds and sods changed, gaskets and what not all replaced.

The car has just been MOT’d and went through with NO advisories. Unfortunately the time has come to sell up as I need a van for work purposes. The car is ready to drive away and enjoy straight away, please bare in mind this is a 15 year old car, and has some bad points, such as a small crack in the front corner of the bumper, brakes and steering sometimes give a whine when the vehicle is hot and at full lock i.e., when parking (not whilst driving over 5mph!!) ABS sensor’s sometimes flash up and the drivers side flog light works but has been damaged by a stone chip. Overall the car is in a truly outstanding and most importantly ORIGINAL condition (no nasty cheap modifications)

The car drives very well and the interior condition needs to be seen to believed. Cheap road tax for this type of car @£295 for 12 months. Comes with all 3 Original keys/Remotes and complete original leather owners handbook pack, I even have the original brochure from when the car was ordered new from the factory.

Quattro // tiptronic auto/man // 18” S8 Alloy wheels // S8 sport steering wheel // Exclusive Black nappa leather // Sports Seats (Heated & Electric adjustment inc memory) // Sat Nav // Bose Sound System including iPod dock in glovebox // Auto dual zone climate control // Electric Sunroof // Cruise Control // Bi Xenon Headlights // Front & Rear parking distance control // Armrests // Audi S8 luxury floor mats

As mentioned Im selling up as I need a Van for work. I have priced it sensibly (I hope!) I am making a big loss as I spent £££s on without a second thought as i was planning on keeping this car for several years. Life changes so after 15 months Im forced to sell up but I hope the new owner and carry on enjoying like I have.

Freshly MOT'd Im listing the car for £3500ono, currently the cheapest on auto trader and the best one imo at sub 5k.

Sensible offers considered. Car located in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire - 07725144393.

Nicely presented, and quite remarkable to see 4 original keys with a D2 these days, but spec wise other than Bose, and an analogue TV tuner I can't see any factory options to speak of, so its more like a ~£60K car.

170K miles, and as a first time poster, I think you're going to struggle to get much interest at £4K tbh.

There will need to have been a gearbox recondition documented at some point also as 170K on a single box is unheard of on a D2 S8, so worth mentioning that if you know the details

Thank you for your comments.

Bought this of a trader who only had it a couple of days, so apart from the docs he knew nothing of the car :(

As mentioned the gearbox is great and I have had a service on it, but as you say for the miles maybe it has had prior work or replacement at some stage over its lifetime. Unfortunately I have no paper proof.

With all that you have mentioned, including the original cost. Maybe £4000 is a tad high....it owes me so much more though :o

Im not silly, so will happily adjust this price and accept offers of a more sensible nature if the right person is interested.

Thanks again.

Right after consideration and the fact I need money for a van...

£3500

Thanks.

Hi There,

I had pretty much this car and it died at ~235K. I did over 100k in it and never had an issue with the gearbox. I doubt it had been reconditioned and I never even did the gearbox oil. Died due to the variable valve timing going out!

Conversly I had a much lower PF D2 S8 that the gearbox died on and the car wasn't worth it
