Got some new d2r xenon bulbs today
Picked up some new genuine Phillips d2r bulbs this afternoon for the princely sum of 50 quid the pair. Will try to get some before and after videos of the start up of the bulbs after Ive changed one to see how much shorter the start up to full brightness takes
I'm hoping the bulbs turn out to be a fair bit brighter as theres nothing to suggest the bulbs have been changed before |
VERY dull video of start up of the bi-xenons in case anyone's interested! Takes a good 30 seconds to get the colour stabilised and I reckon even at a minute after start the light output is still increasing. I kept recording for 2 mins but edited it down
Will compare startup time when I fit the new bulbs http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...ghtstartup.mp4 |
Hi thanks for posting the video, I was considering changing my bulbs two they don't seam as bright as they could be. Are they the same bulbs for a 97 S8?

Does your 97 S8 have Xenon bulbs or halogen?

Mine is later - 1998- and only has Xenon dipped beams. A VERY expensive option at the time. |
I think only the Xenon Plus use the D2-R bulb, the standard Xenon lights use D2-S. The difference is because Xenon Plus use a conventional reflector lens, hence need a different bulb as the standard Xenon lights are projectors.
