If you rummage hard enough (I honestly can't be bothered) there's almost certainly a post or two here with pictures of Digital TV on my RNS-C screen.

OK, so I did bother, had a moment of inspiration and found it quickly, you can also see the source button is missing TV, the main external clue to an RNS-C vs RNS-D:

Jeez, the photo is so big that I can’t read any of the posts! Why does this happen sometimes?

BTW, dim question of the thread - what’s TMC?

HPsauce 5th June 2020 01:48 PM

Sorry about the photo Jim, it's an old one in an old post and was that big then - I didn't realise, just linked to it!

TMC is traffic information. An acronym for Traffic Message Channel.
Often with RDS, e.g. RDS-TMC Radio Data System - Traffic Message Channel

I don’t think I’ve ever noticed that on mine. I’m using discs from Adrian - fairly priced and reliable

I'm using the same and the TMC icon is on my screen. It changes colour if there are relevant delays for your planned journey.
I can't then recall how the system reacts, it's been a while since I used it. ;)

If wonder if yours is the last version I did for the UK? Andrew’s are from me as well, but possibly more recently than yours. The very last set use Mercedes info so the TMC works. It’s only mildly better than not having it (in theory the nav will reroute you based on disruption reported, but in my experience it’s
Pretty dim-witted compared to an app like Waze)

I agree it looks lovely. Especially as it has the beige alcantara interior +++

Now, why would it only be worth scrap value
That comment reminds me of the time when the Audi dealer told me to not bother repairing the car, but scrap it ;)

Proper gearbox rebuild is ~3K.

This car has a sizable mileage on it, dinting its value, even in pristine condition.

Without evidence that the engine, and gearbox are sound, you'd need to budget to spend a lot of money on them - so its value 'as is' is a bit questionable...

Scrap value is worst case, assuming its gearbox has never been serviced, and dies on the way home. Its almost certainly going to be a better story than that, but without evidence, you'd need to bid with worst case in mind, or you'd have to really, really want this red one 'no matter the cost'

if i remember correctly had a single input you could plug into for aux rather than having to hard wire in a pair of aux inputs in the RNS Ds ?

Yes, Tuner A had a single set of 3 RCA inputs for component video and stereo audio.

Tuner B had the ability to take 2 inputs, but there were no factory breakouts, you had to insert the relevant connections into the existing blue multi pin connector.

I clicked the link with 90 secs to go. Colour really suits the D2 imo, but it looks as though the seller had unrealistic expectations.
