Bluetooth streaming

I'm sure it's been asked/explained before but for all the various threads I've read on multiple forums, I'm still none the wiser for what I actually need to have streaming from my Android phone. I have the latest 5570 MMI and below is what shows I think what I have installed in the system. Where can I go from here?

Do I need an analog TV tuner? A digital TV tuner or hybrid? a kufatec kit for £200?

If you have AMI, you can attach a Bluetooth dongle and then stream through AMI.

If you don't have AMI, you can retrofit it.

If you have TV, you could fit a dongle into one of the AUX inputs to the tuner.

Otherwise get an FM transmitter that pairs via BT to your phone.

I don't think I have AMI - I have no other option other than CD?
The cheapest option possibly I think would be to install a TV tuner. If I was to get a TV tuner what would be the difference between getting an analog vs a digital hybrid? How does it receive channels - will it pickup TV from the existing roof antenna?

Can I just install a TV tuner in place of my SAT radio?
Can I tell if my MMI head unit has an FBAS connector just from the MMI info screen? My car does not have reverse camera.

I have a TV tuner with a £10 bluetooth gateway plugged into the AUX IN - it works fine but when the engine is running there is the ground loop feedback whine which is pretty much unavoidable in this setup. Eliminating that with an isolating transformer reduced the quality of the audio making it have a dull tone. It then packed up after just a few weeks before I had chance to remove it.

I have seen you can now purchase MOST BUS MMI 2G (and 3G) bluetooth gateways from ebay for £123 and it integrates with the AUDI MMI and steering wheel controls for next track etc... It is made by MR12VOLT
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MMI-2G-Bl...F/112554298106
It has DIP switches where you can configure it for different cars such as PORSCHE and VOLVO - here you can also disable the handsfree phone function. I am attracted because it uses the fibre optic MOST bus and so the audio should be highest quality possible and also due to the integration. It will appear under CD as CD9 or CD13 depending if you currently have 1 or 2 CD changers. It would install next to the existing CD changer and piggy back of it's connections. The seller has sold 113 but I am unable to find any reviews.

Note this only works on 3G cars - Your 2G car doesn't provide the required power pins to the dongle, so it will do nothing.....

Retrofitting the genuine Audi TV module is quite an effort.

At this point, bearing in mind the 2G tech is 10+ years old, I'd be looking to the 3rd party MOST compatible solutions as the OEM kit was just never designed to cope with modern bluetooth etc.

Dension used to be the king of 3rd party audio add ons, might be worth a google for what they do in terms of bluetooth audio/A2DP MOST kit.

(MOST is the name of the optical bus that Audi, Volvo Aston, etc use for their multimedia components)

Can anyone recommend either of these?...

Anyone?

Or, can I tell what head unit I have from the number quoted in VCDS?

Do you mean which MMI? There was MMI 2G from 2003-2008 and MMI 3G 2008 on. You have software 5570 which is only for 2G.

No, I meant if I have the head unit with the FBAS circuit.

I've seen 2G & 3G mentioned, but how about the 2G High as fitted to my 2007. My AMI powers a hard drive, does anyone know if that indicate it will power a bluetooth dongle?
