Clive, what did your S4 get on the 1/4 Mile?

Amar, the best time we got this year was 4.74 0-60 and 13.4 something 1/mile, but we were being gentle this year - last year our best times were 3.99 0-60 and 12.54 1/4 mile...in the wet...!! :)

WOW, so what have you had done to it mechanically? I can see the B5 RS 4 front which looks amazing, but apart from a remap. What else? +++

...but briefly :-

other than the cosmetics (RS4 front bumper, bonnet grille, engine covers, steering wheel, gearknob, clocks, etc), the engine has been uprated with RS4 parts (K04 turbos, downpipes with no precats, intake manifold, throttle body, cams, bi-pipe, intake pipes, y-pipe, intercoolers) along with phenolic spacers, Milltek catback and an MRC remap.

to improve handling, she has H&R coilovers and ARBs and RS4 B7 front brakes

That sounds incredible, I did consider a B5 S4 but I understand they only have a 2 Star NCAP which is what put me off :(
Yours does look fab though, better than the S8 dare I say it. +++

The 2 cars are in a totally different class.

Look-wise, it's a close call but the S4 does sit 'just right' and with the RS cosmetic mods really does look the part. The S8, on the other hand, is the more 'graceful and wise onlooker'.

Performance-wise, when I'm driving the S8, it feels 'as fast' and responsive as the S4 under most conditions, and the handling has amazed me for such a big car. Of course, side-by-side, the S4 easily outpaces the S8 but it was interesting to see that although there was 2secs difference in the 0-60 times, this narrowed to 1.5secs on the 1/4 mile time.

Out of interest, what NCAP rating does the S8 get?

It dosn't have one as it hasn't been tested. Can't imagine why! there only £70k a throw!!!!! :ROFL:

A4 results:

1997 - 2.5 stars
2001 - 4 stars
2008 - 5 stars

S4/RS4 should be the same really as the fundamental car is the same or has more safety features.

A8 - No NCAP tests.
