Yes, in the sense that it had totally failed and I didn't want to buy a ludicrously expensive replacement from Audi then pay extra to get it sprayed the right colour.
I think it cost about £10. This was before the days of A8parts, or certainly before I knew of them or this forum.

I actually fed the cable from the puck antenna under the boot rim seal then up the cable run into the boot lid and joined into the existing wiring there.
Might seem a bit weird, but it was reasonably accessible and there was a connector linking to the aerial on the boot lid.
Getting the boot lid inside trim off is pretty easy and you can then access everything fairly simply.

So I didn't have to cut any cables or go rummaging in the cabin behind trims and under carpets looking for cable runs.
I think I needed an adapter of some sort as, inevitably, Audi use different coax connectors to the rest of the GPS world.

It ended up going here as there was a perfectly sized cut in sound proofing there from the factory, lol:

The pic was taken during installation, it has been changed to bar now and is working ok, providing interesting insights to how tyres heat up on a drive, it's also set to trigger a warning if tyre goes flat.

Would you rather have it over read by 2psi and show temperatures or.... strip the whole interior and wheel arches out to install the ancient oem audi tpms system that doesn't even display the pressures or temperatures and at some point will die due to water ingress? :)

At least the android TPMS system is installed in the center console, so you will spot the leak way before water level reaches that high :D
