Newer audi MMI data
 

Guys,
Took a delivery of a brand new a6 last friday. Very enjoyable car and high tech, being mistaken a lot with an a8 :ROFL:.
Anyways audi connect/MMI drives me insane. Looks like newer cars systems base a bit on internet data. Hmmm well my 36 months subscribtion will be activated within 30 days apparently. I keep getting messages on screen as data module inactive, connect SAP enabled mobile etc. Each start up brings 4 pop ups wich are very annoying and its taking my eyes of the road. As I have iPhone it is not rSAP compatible.
Did anyone found a way around this SAP loving audi feature? Without changing a phone or getting another sim card to put in a car.
Also start/stop is a disaster too

In short, no - if you want online services you need a rSAP phone or a SIM in the car. On the next generation of hardware (as in 4M Q7 etc) it can connect using an wifi hotspot on your mobile, and then eventually they came with an embedded SIM card as standard.

Best bet is something like a giffgaff SIM for data, you should still be able to bluetooth calls from your iPhone.
