a victory for proper fuel, v engines and Audi
Last year, whilst on a day trip involving a couple of hundred miles my brother and i had a mpg challenge and unsuprisingly his v8 seven series lost to the mighty v6 A8 +++. This year the journey was repeated, this time however he was in his 2 litre manual diseasel people carrier 5 up with luggage vrs me in the 2.8 auto 5 up with luggage and with a promise of a good hiding MPG wise :(. At the end of the journey the numbers were revealed.....people wagon...35.8 mpg...the A8 36.2. HA! HAHAHA! :ROFL: Victory for Audi, Vee engines, auto boxes and indeed petrol. I'd like to thank my spons...................

LMAO thats amazing - before next time you need to put LPG on it so it does the equivalent of 50mpg against his next car!! :D

Thats excelent! I only used to manage about 29-30 on a run with my old 2.8 A4 Auto which is pretty much the same 30v engine as FL A8's! (and i used to aveage about 25 normally.)
My girlfriend and i recently drove the S8 to the lake district, we were in no rush so decided to set the cruise to 70 and enjoy the journey and save a few pennies. over the 350mile journey we managed a whopping 28.5mpg!!! on the way home we were headed for 30 before hitting traffic and dropping to high 28s again, having averaged 29.8mpg for the first 150miles! I was shocked! I normally get 18-21 on my run to work! |
35.8!!! That's simply amazing!! +++
I have to say that I managed a steady cruise along the M62 at around 70mph yesterday in the RS4 and returned a surprising 27.something... |
Clive, you can't come on here and start talking about a car you haven't formally introduced. We got a thread for the 80 so lets have one for the RS 4, pics, sound bites and a short review please. +++
