Different Folding Door Mirrors?
 

Is there two different types of folding mirrors on the D3? I'm after buying a complete mirror for the driver's door only to find that the mirror folds upward as opposed to the original on the passenger side folding inward?

Early D3's fold upward, later inwards.
Not sure of date they changed, my experience is with 2004 & 2008 models.

Hmm...mine's a 2008 facelift - I wonder is it then it was changed - along with the indicator move?

My 2004 folds upwards, the mirror glass is also a different shape to the later ones.

Yeah, my guess would be when the indicator changed from being on the wing, to being integrated in the side mirror, which was the 2007-08 facelift.

The 2004-05 major facelift still retained the side indicator in the wing.

Some have the auto-dimming glass and some don't - just to complicate things more.
