Following on from this thread, I did do Spa but it probably wasn't wise. Currently getting the AC de-gassed to fit a new pump but the work to identify the the air leak at the back of the engine necessitates the removal of the inlet manifold to access the underside. There is a possibility it's not a vacuum hose, but a corroded inlet manifold. I'm pulling my plugs to asses the degree of leaning out that's happened. Running the appropriate measuring blocks shows it's only happening a low revs/idle.

If I turn up in a Q3 please be gentle! :o

That'd be a shame, but it is what it is - hope you get it fixed. You can guarantee we'll be more gentle with you than with Sarg in his "no indicators" Beemer* ;)

Good luck with sorting it, but I guess that driving a smaller motor will be punishment enough ... maybe. ;)
