Genuine part purchased from Audi tradition. Cost me approx £650 landed in the UK so price is £650 plus delivery.

Not sure where you're based but if you're interested and have to travel a reasonable distance to collect, you can have it for £600. Helps with fuel costs and saves me the hassle of dealing with couriers.

When I get round to fitting it are there any tricks, special tools, preparation/lubrication/calibration etc. required?

At first glance it's wipers off, scuttle cover off (been there, done those before) one electrical connector and just a few bolts..... but appearances can be deceptive. :tuttut:

When I replaced mine some years ago, IIRC, I found it a bit fiddly getting the old unit out and the new one back in, particularly around the bonnet struts. It will go, but cover the o/s wing so you don’t mark that lovely paint!
