in my A8, no-one can hear you scream
Hi guys.
Not sure if this should be in this section or the interior electronics section but here goes... When I'm speaking on the phone - via bluetooth - using my own phone, not the audi branded one under the arm rest, nobody can hear anything I'm saying. Is there a microphone setting anywhere on the MMI or via VCDS that I can turn up? Alternatively, where is the microphone located? Getting sick of the OH shouting at me when I try to call. gill |
Have you adjusted the volume on the steering wheel while talking? When I picked my D3 up I called SWMBO on the drive home and she could hardly hear me, without knowing the reason I increased the volume via the thumb wheel and hey presto, job sorted +++

And check the phone settings too, see what devices it has recognised as connected via Bluetooth - work out if it's using the phone microphone or the car one.
I don't know where the D3 microphone is, but somewhere near the sunroof switch would be my guess. |
Have you or someone previous retrofitted voice control, or does your car have voice control and the phone module been replaced.
There is a difference in mic connections depending on voice control or not. If you do not have voice control then the microphone is connected to the bluetooth module directly. If you do have voice control, then the microphone is connected to the voice control module instead. As Marcin found out when retrofitting voice control, correct microphone routing and coding of the modules is needed otherwise nobody can hear you, read the long thread here. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7651 |
Isn't the microphone up in here?
