Fairy lights... sorry I mean DRL mods?

What do you guys think about these? Depending on how Figure11 does with tinting the corner rear lights red I may do these LED mods as well as I have to replace the front headlight seals anyway. I won't stick them on the bumper or anything like that just in the head lights - Am I tredding the realms of Chavness?

Ska I think mkoneman has already fitted some of these to his S8 so I guess he can tell you the pros and cons. personally i think they are a bit thin, i'd want mine to look more like the thicker generic LEDs on newer audis

Been think about the LEDs as well. Need to dismatle headlight (xenon plus) anyway as it's started to get condensation in it. Is this a straight foward operation? Will they need to be re-aligned afterwards?
Ska - you mentioned new seals, are these something that I should be able to get from the local dealer?
Cheers,
Mike

I personally think they would work better mounted in the plastic trim just below the headlight

Conan_the_Librarian 8th February 2009 05:21 PM

I like the look. Botangs suggestion about setting them in the lower grill has been done on an S6. I am trying to find the link.

Ska 8th February 2009 05:33 PM

@ S8yot- it's relatively painless you may be able to remove the glass in situ just need tro remove the trim below the lights & the indicator PFL. But just take out the light is what I'd do and try to buff up the 150k miles glass at the same time.
the seal is around £7 from the dealers took them 2days to get them in.

Under the headlights you say Botang; hmm... some photochopping is in order me thinks. I've found the bigger 10mm leds as well 6 in a row.

Found it. It was a Jetta not an A6.
