A8 4.2tdi 06 - power steering level
 

Just got the lid off as it’s hard to turn when stationary. At min if even, anyone know how much I need to get to max?

Depends how low the resvoir is , here's the more important question ....where has the fluid gone ?

When fluid is cold it should be around 2mm above min mark.
When warm it should be between min and max mark.

When cold it should be around 2mm below or above min mark so looks like your level is fine.
What’s the mileage?
Power steering pump is maybe dying?

Did you sort this out? Trying to check my PAS fluid but bit of a pig to get to? Do I have to remove air box to access?

Yes mine was black, it was a pain in the ass to get too.

Air box needs to come off- I think I left the bottom of the air box in and was able to work around it.

I had a Wee syphon lying about that I used to suck out the old stuff then just refilled.

Cheers. How much did you use to refill and what oil did you use?

Can anyone send me a link to the exact pipe I need to disconnect behind the pass fog light grill to pump out the steering fluid? I know Marcin did a write up but just curious as my one is diesel and so not sure if the layout is identical to petrol. Thanks
