Looking to buy a D2, £1000 to spend.
Hi I live in Wales and im looking to buy a D2 A8. I have £1k to spend.
I know I can't be too picky for this amount of money but it has to be quattro (don't care what engine size), It has to have a multi function steering wheel (can't live without it) and double pane windows would be a huge plus. I don't mind about what condition its in as long as its not accident damaged and can be driven/rolled onto a transporter and the engine turns over. ( I have a company car as a daily) It would be more of a project car for me to fix up and keep as a weekend car than anything else. Is there anything about? |
Twin pane glass was only standard on the V8's, and multi function steering wheel is pretty rare on the best of days and would more usually only make it onto the 4.2's (although it was standard on the uber rare LWB model)
Not an impossible find, but it require some patience I imagine... +++ |

I know the MFSW's are rare. The rarest of them all to my knowledge is the 4 spoke with tiptronic and multi function buttons like this one:

The rarest, would be the heated version of that +++ |
end of november will be parting with my year 2000 3.7 sport quattro , 117k ,been in the family since 2005 , no accidents although bumpers scratched a bit
no MF wheel just tiptronic my daughter has a BMW with some electric on order for end of november and the plan is for me to take over her A6 avant so the idea is for that that to be my last car [ I'm the forums oldest member !] best feature is that the 8 had a new transmission ex audi in the last 25 k at vast expense with the idea of keeping it , but as I no longer live anywhere I can do anything myself it seems sensible to have something younger even though I hate the idea as it still runs just fine but the right car has come along for me at one point I considered changing the wheel as I was told that it was possible with a new controller ....Ian can probably advise if that is correct |

I have retrofitted a multi function steering wheel on a mk1 Octavia in the past but an A8 must be at least 2x more complicated, still I would try and do it+++ |
If Nick's doesn't work out and you have some wiggle-room in your budget, I will also be selling my 2000 3.7 non-sport quattro in the next couple of months. Ming blue, cream sport interior, recent (but undocumented) gearbox rebuild, double glazing and MFSW. I'll be looking for probably £1500 for that.
