Interior LED mod=possible door light fault ??
 

Did anyone of you guys ever had any problems with interior lighting after replacing all standard 501 bulbs with 501s LEDs??

The first problem I noticed some time ago was the fibre optic light strip in the left rear door, just above the door handle from inside. All other 3 are working fine
Do they get damaged if you definitely haven't done any other work on that door at all, except swapping bottom 501 for LED one??

Second was external door handle original LED lighting, not always all door handles are lit when only driver doors are operated in and out (night time)

Dash lighting. Air vents lighting and all other lighting above the aluminium trim except check and 0,0 buttons.
The light on the visit card little drawer is off as well (aluminium trim)

All sorted now, but still no luck with the fibre optic rear door light strip....:mad:

What did you do to fix them?

It's really embarrassing Del, as per Paul's suggestion in this thread http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthrea...8357#post68357 I just changed the 1A SB29 (driver side fuse box) and it's all back to normal, well, at least on the dashboard.

Will have to monitor the external handles lighting and see if it's only me or interior LEDs causing it.

Do you know guys if all handles should lit at all times when is dark (after parking the car)??
If you got out from the car should all of them lit or only driver door will lit if there was no other passengers getting out of the car??

Mine only light up when using the fob, the keyless does nothing with the under handle lights.

My drivers ones had been painted over by the previous owner's dumb body shop:ROFL: I looked and saw a feint glow and scraped it off with my nail.

All of mine light up whenever I touch the underside of any of the exterior door handles. Also when I switch ignition off they all light up again.

Snapdragon, I am going to do a respray of most of the car this year and I'm worried already, I'm expecting some parking sensors issues, keyless entry problems and God knows what else

Lee, everything is back in order now, all what's left is the fibre optic light strip in rear passenger's door. Could that be due to all bulbs being changed to LEDs or it's more likely to be dead??

All interior light are back in order after changing 1A fuse.
I've never seen so many lights at the same time for all this years, how I could not see that before :hammer:

Did you get any where with the interior LED strip?

I got a price for a new one, tempted to order it but wondering if its the strip or box it plugs in to.

The strips are very simple looking units.
