My 4x4 Cosworth
|
My previous car to the A8 was a Granada Cosworth which I presume is the engine you have in your 4x4. It's a lovely engine in the Granada delivering loads of fun when pushed and effortless driving the rest of the time. I've seen a few 4x4 with the BOA lump in them and always thought the weight and size loss over the Granada, combined with the advantages of 4 wheel drive, must make them a whole lot of fun.
However that alone doesn't make it cool. I always thought the 4x4 were cool, the thinking mans Sierra Cosworth. More understated and nearly as quick (as the standard SC). |
*The* Sierra cosworth is a defining car, imo it started a lot of the 4x4 performance revolution.
But, I'm a bit of a purist, and loving the black paintwork, but not liking the darkened rear lenses or non-factory wheels. I cant think of anything cooler than a 10 year + performance motor that is showroom condition and unmodified, but here lies the cossie problem - No one could ever leave them alone, they've all been fettled, meddled and modified, and as such attract a bit of a boy racer status, and hence in my opinion, cannot be cool.... Sorry, only my opinion.. +++ |

Definitely an uncool car to the masses, but I would have loved one... |

The Cossie Scorpio was another car that I wish I'd kept as well ....

Gorgeous car!
Will post up some of the collection as well. The E39 M5 is still a firm favourite. |
