Yes sadly, go into 5F on vcds then adaptations select service menu.
Change 0 to 1 and save. Green menu is then active instantly |

They told me to wait for 48 hours and it will automatically be uploaded to my MMI via Audi connect. You need to sign it to Audi connect. You’ll then see the traffic map option works as it should. In summary, if anyone wants this, get down to your Audi dealer asap because they may change their mind and charge for this feature in future. Good luck. |
You don't even have to pay a visit to the dealer...a quick call to A8 Customer Services on 0800 699888 will do the trick.
Just ask them if they can activate Online Traffic Services and it will be switched on in @24 hours. You will then see the Online symbol on the lower left of the MMI screen and Audi CS will confirm via email also. I done this on my 2011 @6 months ago and on my 2014 earlier this week. Free 12 months Traffic Service seems a good thing for me despite me preferring to use Google Earth! -=Glyn=- |
Something I mentioned briefly in another thread was activating the Lap Timer in the D4.
Now I tried this exercise in my pre-facelift 2011 4.2TDi some months ago and was just left with a dummy entry for Lap Timer in the menu scroll but when you pressed the OK button nothing would happen. The Lap Timer entry just stayed static in the list. Tried this in my facelift 2014 TDi and it works as expected! Selecting Lap Timer in the menu scroll list and pressing OK now opens up the Lap Timer properly and displays Oil Temp, Boost and all the Timer functions such as Lap, Split, Pause, Statistics, Reset etc. Address 17 4H0 920 850 P recoded (Long Coding) 33870800BF552600010000, 338F0800BF552600010000 Hope that helps! -=Glyn=- |

Sorry manca...I’ve just seen this and I’m not getting any notifications of thread replies despite having Instant Email Notification set.
I can’t remember if I had to give any other info than registration number. Don’t think they asked for the VIN. Seems like you’ve got it sorted now though hopefully? -=Glyn=- |

Not sure what happened to my post yesterday and Paul's reply but...
Having waited over 6 weeks for something I was originally told would take a few days then two weeks then up to a month.... Yesterday I was told categorically that my car could not be enabled for online traffic. It wasn't explained to me specifically why only that there was no further action to be taken. Imagine my surprise this morning when, without any action in my part my MMI screen changed from TMC to Online about 90 seconds after I left home. Further investigation shows my license expires on 17/08/19. Presumably a year after it was enabled. |
