MMI update

Hi,
I can't view your photo but my 2011 A8 had version K0097 when I bought the car. I just got my local dealer to update the MMI to K0770. This took them over 2 hours and was done using the dealer supplied SD card. They billed me for an hours labour which was decent.
My reason for the update was to allow me to use Google Earth Mapping from the Data Sim on the Sat Nav while having my iphone connected via Bluetooth. With the early version, the bluetooth connection disconnects as soon as a data sim is inserted in the slot which makes it totally unusable !!
I found this info on another forum by an A7 owner who had the same issue. I suggest you mention to your dealer that you are having issues with Bluetooth or similar to encourage them to carry out the update, apparently a lot of dealers refuse to carry out an update unless there is a "problem" with the mmi.
Photo attached showing my updated software version.
Hope this info helps.😎

I'm wonder what's new in software 900, did you notice any changes

paulrstaylor 8th January 2016 06:47 PM

Not really, was on 783 prior to this, which was the same as the 2015 demonstrators they lent me while mine was in the workshop, upgrade was to try and get the phone to connect at 3G, I think it is a hardware issue but they persisted with software updates so far

Hi,
I couldnt see the point of throwing money at the dealer to update the maps as I prefer to use Google Earth on the Sat Nav display. Most of the Google Earth overlay data is right up to date. I was just happy to get Audi Connect etc. working while still having my phone connected to the bluetooth. I use an iphone which doesnt have Rsap.
I used to update the dvd based maps on my D3 every 2 years or so with Ebay supplied Nav Discs but I think D4 map upgrades are Main Dealer ££££.

Yeah, I got the updated maps into the deal on my car. There are third parties who seem to be able to do it, I am hoping they drop their prices before my next upgrade!

One example here: http://www.audisatnavs.com/2015-sat-...s-3g-122-p.asp

Paul, the one from your link is already old that's why is on offer, the newest one is 6.22

Sure, I wasn't saying buy it, just pointing out it isn't main dealer only +++
