Space saver tyre sizes
I have tried to work this out, but I’m a bear of very little brain on this topic (at least!).
I’m trying to find a second hand space saver wheel & tyre for my TTS. The current tyres are 255 35 19. Does anyone know what size of space saver I should look for (they nearly all seem to be on 18” rims)? Similar difficulties with my wife’s mini (can I mention that here?) which has 175 65 15 tyres. Thanks and respect to the smarter folk on this forum! |
This chart may help: https://www.komwheel.com/understandi...aver-tyre-size
175/65R15 - is that an "old" mini? |
125 80 18

Thanks guys. I knew there’d be smarter folk along quickly enough.
It’s a 2013 BMW mini, so the model before they became ‘maxis’! |
As long as the shell has 5 studs, is there anything else that I need to consider?

Indeed! Not a mini at all anymore - if the Beemer one was anyway . I'd love to see a photo of the "real" mini, next to a "new" 4x4 mini-max, next to a "real" Maxi. I bet it's closer to the Maxi than the mini. PS: apologies for the thread hijack! :D |
I bet it’s bigger than the the old Maxi.

PCD (5x112) and centre bore (66.6). Early TTs were 5x100 and 57.1 so you'll need to make sure it comes from the correct generation

Thanks so, so much! I could have wasted a good few quid on the wrong wheel and tyre. Armed with this information, I might just get it right.
Should I limit my search to a VAG wheel, or will other makes be OK if they match this set of criteria? |
