Just spotted on my little Volvo.....
Something in common with my big D2 S8. +++
Now we all know how well insulated etc. our cars are. In particular the double (inner and outer) seals around the doors, which is rarely seen on other models, even from Audi. This not only keeps the sills and door shuts clean but reduces wind noise, other sound intrusion, improves insulation etc. I've just realised today that my little Volvo V40 has exactly the same arrangement. As well as the seal all around the cabin side of the doors there are seals all around the outer edges, including the sills and between front and rear doors. Never noticed it before. |

.... as they say in Sweden +++ |
Living on a dirt road, that's something I particularly notice over summer - dust.
The XC90 is superior to the S8 in keeping dust out of the door shuts! The S8 gets quite dusty in the shuts, the XC90 doesn't! |
Really? Try some silicone rubber conditioner on the door seals. Something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sonax-34000...s=gummi+pflege but there are different products available in different formats. Also you can set HVAC fan to higher speed to keep positive cabin pressure nad prevent air and dust from entering in the gaps.

I don't get dust on the interior, just the shuts.
I might give something like that a go, as the rubber has probably aged a bit in the climate here. |
