Wanted: Late (2009/10) Audi S8 D3
 

I am looking for a S8 D3 with the the later 3G MMI. Any dark colour considered but not black head-lining. Cash waiting!

Keep checking ebay and Autotrader +++. Not many late facelifts about at all and even less come up for sale on here.

and even fewer have the factory option for light coloured headlining, which is a shame as I like it too.....

The headlining isn't a massive job to change if/when you track down a donor set - and as it will massively restrict your choice, it's probably worth being a bit flexible.......

Just to help complicate your search. Are you aware of the extras you may be able to find fitted to a late D3 S8?
There may be some exciting stuff that you also can't live without, in addition to a non black roof lining, which incidentally (in mine at lease) is not black but darkish grey

An idea of budget would be good as well. You might get a better specced facelift car but pre-3G MMI with better toys (i.e., B&O, extended leather, etc...).

I will say this, be prepared to look at some neglected dogs and be prepared to travel. I took a flight to get mine and had her inspected by the AA before I did. Then I drove 500 miles home and it wasn't even in the colour I originally set out for but it was by far the best car available.

Can tell if it has the 3G MMI from the pics, but the colour and headlining fit

That's 2G.... no joystick on MMI main knob, and graphics at the bottom of MMI are the older lower rez style.....

Wouldn't expect 3G on an 09 plate really, looking more towards 59's +

I've never seen a 3G one myself so didn't know what to look out for.

This might come under the heading "compromise"

The 3G is desirable. HDD based navigation, faster., much higher resolution. Built in 20Gb HDD for music. Built in twin SD slots and AMI. DVD player in the media slot....

It does really increase the youthful look of the car somewhat.....

Find 3G MMI, and you're guaranteed a facelift. I'd also be gunning for B&O for sure.

But that's all, 3G MMI and B&O. Mileage not so fussed about, colour I'd try to be flexible and maybe just avoid 1 or 2 colours I absolutely don't want.

Bear in mind the D3 S8 came out in 2006, and we're talking about the last year (if that) of production we're seeking here, where the wise folks were likely shying away from the aging model knowing its due a new chassis the following year.

A rare, and very desirable car when you find one....
