BMW M5 (E39) - 5 Litre V8
Well here's a crap pic of the M5. It's just frankly awesome and love it.
Standard 400bhp This one has full Supersprint headers, Eisenmann centre and backboxes and remapped running a healthy 438bhp with 150,000 miles on. I think it's cool. One of the first truly understated saloons (After kal_ay's superbly sexy Lotus Carlton) that just is unreal in power. http://i928.photobucket.com/albums/a...htuning/m5.jpg |
The car I really wanted but had to avoid as I knew it would make my dream car, the RS6, feel inferior by comparison. I know it sounds strange but I wanted the RS 6 badly.
It's faster then a standard RS6 even though it is naturally aspirated, handles a million times better, the interior is in another league to the Audi and it has a proper gearbox. Awesome, awesome car. I remember trying to race one in my S8, there was no point as it left me behind and I had my foot down hard. The E39 M5 for me is up there with the D2 S8 as one of the best cars both marquees have ever made. One day... |
My favourite colour for the E39 M5,cool +++

Awesome car, very balanced handling. I've owned an M-car, a 1990 E30 M3 Cabrio, and with just 200 bhp, it was awesome on the open road, as a track car, it would leave a D2 S8 floundering.

I think the M5 just about qualifies for cool, especially if de-badged, whereas the 3 doesn't even get close (maybe 'cos I don't fit in a 3)
A proper 'sleeper' though :) |

E30 M3 FTW, might soften for E36 as well

Never had one but i've gone with cool on this one and and thats just tipped the balance

Still got this and the B5 RS 4 on my 'to do list' like Clarkson and Top Gear say 'there has never been a bad M5'. I still think the RS 6 Avant is cooler, even if the E39 is probably the better all rounder.
