4.2TDI radiator fan running constantly

I returned home after a week away and my car has developed an issue, basically the radiator fan is running constantly and continues to run for about 30 seconds after I stop the engine.

A quick scan revealed the following code:

               P1900 - 001 - Open or Short to Ground

I am suspecting an electrical issue, bad contact or corrosion or possibly a faulty module, but before I start taking things apart I wondered if anyone had come across this before?

Could it be caused by low battery voltage?

Sounds like a short in fan control module. Happens to lot of VAG cars across the range.

Well as suggested it was the fan/control module (4E0 959 455 H), replaced with a new one and all back to normal :)
