Audi 20" centre cap - BNIP

Hi folks

Had a clear out in the garage earlier and came across a brand new genuine wheel centre cap.

Stoke Audi are flogging these for £40 a pop on ebay, so make me an offer to relieve me of this one :)

Just to be clear, that looks like the "brushed" version, rather than the "smooth" version. ;)
So a good match for FE20s that are still diamond cut. ;)

I have a set for my summer 20s for whenever they get back into use (2021 sometime I hope…) so I need to check what exactly I have.

Can I put a "serious expression of interest" down please Adrian, to be confirmed when I can next get to my garage..... sober.....

The polished version supersedes to the brushed one now. Probably my doing after I rejected all the remaining polished stock because every single one of them was scratched by some numpty just chucking them all in a box together with no protection on the polished surface. I think Exeter TPS returned about 6 sets before we gave up.

The brushed ones are much better anyway +++

I'll second MJ's comments about the newer version being much better. I replaced all of mine after having lost one of my centre caps in mysterious circumstances whilst parked near Rugby.

There is only 1 out of the 3 spares that I've kept that is usable as a replacement. The other 2 centre caps suffer from a crazed surface texture that surrounds a few of the false hex/Allen key bolt caps. My new set of 4 remain unblemished whereas the previous set started to (shall we say) 'weather' very quickly.

Having found my centre caps I have a ropy set of 4 made of Chinesium for "everyday" use, plus a genuine set for "show" and a spare. All brushed style.

The spare, oddly, is the polished type and is apparently unused but with a couple of minor "dings" round the edge (ref MJs comments earlier probably) though I store it in bubble wrap.

I'm DEFINITELY interested in Adrian's one then to have as my "show" spare and would then happily move on the polished one if anyone is in need.
(I'll PM you Adrian  )

PS. I also have a set of the original polished type that were so bad that I dismantled and repainted them myself... Terribly. It wasn't really an improvement. :o
These are truly ugly now, with dirty peeling paint, so I keep them in the car to put on whenever I visit somewhere with suspect parking; just in case someone does decide to nick them...

Sold to Andrew - thank you!

I have a couple of other bits to sort out as well, including an auto dimming rear view mirror and a luggage net.

Still have the Avus painted mirror caps and the brand new handbrake 'wood' trim hanging around here somewhere too.....

Ooh...I’ll have the handbrake cover it’s the a same as mine please?

Cheers,
Zip

Hi Zip

I'll need to check, but from memory it's myrtle so let me know if that's what you need.

It's NLA from Audi in the UK or Tradition and when I offered it previously I was looking for £75 for it. I got this from Tradition and I think with delivery it was something like £120.......I ended up repairing the old one with double sided tape! When it was available in the UK it was £95ish, but that was a few years ago.

Happy to grab a pic - will need to unwrap it

Adrian

If you need Vavona I think I have one of them spare somewhere. (And a few other bits of Vavona trim as well)
