Tyre question
i have on my car 235 55ZR17 99Y 's im searching the tyre online sites and most dont seem to have the facility to add the Z in the search, what does this Z mean, and can i get tyres that dont have the Z ?
ZR+ Symbol "Y"
Tyres marked with both designations for vehicles with speed capability over 240 Km/h but not exceeding 300 Km/h |
so i MUST have it, or is ok if i dont go over 140 mph :)
W/Y/Z are pretty much the same for most road cars and a lot of tyre sites mix them in their searches.
Thats why im confused, most dont even have the zr option and Y is faster than zr anyway.
I thought the D3 series all had extra load tyres?
I think when you get to the high speed ratings they're usually XL anyway, never had ones that haven't been
Mine says 99Y in all the papers, manual and original Dunlop spare.
99Y is not XL, I think at this size 103Y is designated XL. What tyres are you thinking of? I will need some soon and have the same size, but am trying to hold off until the new EU labelling regulations come in later this year. |
a couple of goodyears 235 55 R17 Y's, ive bought them now, so hope they are alright, reading Singhs thread on tyres made me check mine, they are not as bad as his but looking very dodgy
these should do me until i get back from france and look for some bigger alloys, these 17's look far too small on a car this size |
