Will you be advertising her soon?

Yeah. I need to swap the heater valve block next as that also failed while she was in storage so that's a job for this week, plus a few other niggles and she'll be ready to go.

To bad it's a RHD, otherwise I would have been willing to buy it. The car looks just lovely and we all know, it couldn't be in better shape after you did the work, MJ
I am sure the next owner will be very pleased |

The joint on this drive shaft came off particularly easy - good old whack in the special spot. Took apart, cleaned, laid out and replaced as pic: - noting that the thinner leading edge of the (inner race?) facing up http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1642266240 Now this joint was a particular PIA to get back on, extra assistance with mallet required. Question is, have I got the orientation of the (race's) the right way, it sort of looks like your pic MJ but just having a wobble as I have done the others this way :-( Attachment 27666 |
I'm sorry to say I think you have the cage upside down :( I just checked a scrap joint and the thicker portion is definitely at the top.
I never normally take them apart this far tbh so I had to check one. Usually I catch them before any damage so just repack with the grease that comes with the boot kit. |
