swopping to newer F125
 

a while back I had F125 problems which I cured by a strip and clean
currently fitted is the circular 8pin [ iirc] socket
I went to TPS who quoted me £230 as a non trade customer
I notice that I can buy one from china with the 10 pin oval socket ...for £30 delivered !

at a guess this has the same wiring with some extra [ got a feeling there is actually only one extra wire ]
has anyone had a go at changing the socket ? or would it be possible to change the socket it plugs into ? are the wiring colours the same ?

I don't suppose my strip and clean will last forever !

First thing to do is check the wiring diagrams and see if there are any extra connections or if the function of the switches is different. If they appear compatible then you can either splice in a new 10-pin socket to your car wiring harness, or change the connector on the switch for the round one.

I cleaned mine 2 years ago and its still working fine :)
