Headlight level sensor 4B0 907 503A
3 Attachment(s)
Hi all,
I have stumbled across the OE manufacturer of the D2 headlight level sensor 4B0907503A: Febi Bilstein. This is the first OE part I've seen from Febi tbh and on that basis they warrant an upgrade in my personal supplier ranking from Tier 2 high quality aftermarket to Tier 1 OEM :) This sensor is used on everything of the D2's era - A4, A6 & TT so still in production. Check this picture where the Febi part has had the OE markings sandblasted off. Same font and location for both 'made in Germany' and the date stamp. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1599981858 In this pic you can see the same parting lines from the injection mould: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1599981858 Febi part number is 37932 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1599981858 Retail on this from TPS is £104 but the Febi version can be had for £50 if you search around +++ |
That's a good discovery. Well done MJ +++

That's good research. I sometimes get the warning if stuck in traffic for a while.

Does this work for both front and back?
Thanks |
Yes, same part front and back.

thank you for the info

I’ve just got my S8 back from having the front subframe repaired and the headlight level light popped up immediately.
On a scan it says “1 fault found, 00776 - level control system sensor, left front, (G78) 31-00 open or short to ground. Can I assume that this is the sensor inside the left wheel arch and not the control unit? It doesn’t;’t appear that the arm is broken, so I suppose the electrics have gone for some reason? |
Assuming the sensor was disturbed while removing the subframe, it may just be a legacy fault if the ignition was turned on with the sensor disconnected. Have you tried clearing the code to see if it comes back?
If it does come back it could be a bad connection. I'd have a check and make sure the connector is fully seated, maybe remove it and give it a squirt of WD40. If that doesn't help then replace replace the sensor. |
Thanks Michaela
