ACC Retrofit. Can Dial Faces Be Changed?
 

Just taken delivery of another box of bits:

This time it's for retrofitting ACC to the S8. I've already bookmarked the thread by Delboy on how to do it, so will be going through that to see what else I need to get, but was wondering if it is possible to change over the dial faces from the S8 cluster to the 'new' cluster, since the S8 cluster looks so much better.

They will come apart but it won't work. The ACC cluster has led's around the edge of the speed dial, where as your original S8 does not have these. Also the W12 speedo you have goes to 180mph, S8 200mph. I would install the W12 you've bought and set an ebay alert for an S8 unit. +++

Forgot about the LEDs around the speedo.

I've read up on retro fitting it to Q7's a few times, and believe that the cluster is a nice to have visual component of the system only, rather than needed....

So in theory, you could get it all up and working, and trawl ebay in the background until the correct unit comes up....

ACC on D3 S8's is quite a rare item though in the UK which is likely why Del ended up buying a brand new one....

Hope it doesn't come to that. I suspect I'll follow Matts comment and install it with the W12 cluster to begin with. I know it will mean another visit to Audi for CP removal, but considerably cheaper than a new one. +++
