Lane Assist Not Working?
Since the accident repair, my lane assist LEDs in the wing mirrors haven't lit up once. Granted, I've been keeping well away from other cars, but they usually light up dimly when there's a car overtaking me and then flash like crazy if I indicate and there is a car in my blind spot.
There are no codes stored in VCDS and I can still use the MMI to set the brightness of the LEDs and they light up with the corresponding brightness. Is there a functional check I can do with VCDS? Other than indicating like a madman on the motorway, is there any way I can test them? If faulty, how do I fix it? The rear bumper (where I understand the radar sensors are located) was not painted, although the nearside rear quarter panel was. I'm grateful for any ideas. |
Yeah, I think if you go to the module --> Basic Settings and click Start/Stop/Next or something like that, it will go thru whatever test stages are available.

On my way outside...

OK, so I found something strange... during the output tests, when the left mirror LEDs were set to illuminate, the right side lit up and vice versa.
So, where are the plugs for these things? Can I swap them using VCDS, or do I have to unplug and re-plug them physically? |
I've got to build a Lego set now with my daughter so if no one will have an answer for you by the time I finish and have my dinner I will look at the wiring diagrams later to see what they plug in to.

It turns out I'm only allowed to watch so we are in the study, she is playing and I'm back :D
Will have a look now where the J769 and J770 are. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1488307579 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1488307579 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1488307579 |

I'd just take it back to the repairing garage and get them to sort if I was you!?

You want to be careful. If its something easy just do it your self. BY taking it back you risking them f****ng possibly more things or they will call a ''guy'' who will mess it all up even more. On the end of the day body shops are not electronically minded.
Unless you agree on time and you will stand over they shoulders, but if they say it's too much for them and they don't know where to start then just get them to sign something stating they will cover the cost of putting it back. But it also depends how honest they are. Have you got the proof it wasn't like that before you dropped the car off to them?? You see what I mean. |
Yup, but for those very reasons if it is beyond them then the insurance company will be used to sub-contracting to a dealer..... The sooner you report it the better, but if you start making wiring changes it will be unlikely they will touch it.
My guess would be could be as simple as a coding issue in any case - I know on a D4 it would require re-calibration which is dealer only  |
